Teens 16+, adults, families, couples, social struggles
Jumoi works with various clients, from young adults figuring out their purpose and direction to couples who have been together for decades and have lost touch. He is passionate about and has extensive experience guiding partners with common issues such as communication differences, affair recovery, and rebuilding lost connection. Additionally, Jumoi has a specialization in working with clients who struggle with compulsive sexual material use.
Recognizing that loneliness has become pervasive in today’s world, Jumoi has developed “Out of Touch, But There’s Still Time”, a program for people who want to have better relationships, platonic or otherwise. He is adept at aiding clients in understanding the components of friendship, and moving from wishing they had better friends to actually making this a reality.
Jumoi’s approach to therapy is primarily solution-focused and client-centered, combined with a calm, nonjudgmental style. He builds relationships with his clients easily, relating to the common struggles of our complicated world. Using cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and solution-focused strategies, Jumoi meets you where you are and provides support as you find the path you’re meant to be on.
Jumoi received his bachelor’s degree from Oakland University and his Master’s degree from Western Michigan University. He is a Limited Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LLMFT) and Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC), and works under the supervision of Carin Goodrich, MA, LPC.
