Biography

Claudia earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan.

Claudia’s professional and personal expertise includes managing and treating anxiety symptoms and triggers, overcoming social anxiety and depression, and managing burnout resulting from chronic illness and pain management. She strives to utilize integrative therapy to ensure sessions and treatment plans work for a client’s personality and lifestyle; therapies include psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solutions-focused therapy, and Gestalt therapy. She works with clients ranging in age from teenagers to older adults.

Claudia helps clients identify anxious thoughts and behavior patterns. and helps them to accept emotions in the moment and learn how to move forward. Claudia engages clients as active participants in their own mental health healing by encouraging reflection and awareness, teaching coping strategies, and encouraging accountability for their emotional well-being.

Claudia’s educational background includes diabetes research, management, and diabetes burnout treatment, as well as advocacy and education for affordable insulin. She has additional experience working with older adults living with dementia and their care partners. She manages her own 20-year diabetes journey alongside her (also diabetic) spouse.
